About Wigton
Wigton is a rural locality in the South Burnett district of Queensland, about 33 kilometres south of Gayndah. It is a sparsely settled area of grazing country and scrub, with cattle and sheep raised on native pastures. State forests cover parts of the locality, including Wigton State Forest, and the area was first taken up as pastoral country in the 1840s.
