About Victory Heights (Qld)
Victory Heights is a rural residential locality on a ridge south of Gympie in the Gympie Region. The locality encompasses the site of a former World War II United States Army Air Forces satellite airfield, Gympie No. 1, built in 1942. Gympie itself was founded during the 1867 gold rush and remains a centre for gold and copper mining, with heritage streetscapes along Mary Street.
