About Taabinga

Taabinga is a rural town and locality in the South Burnett Region of Queensland, located approximately six kilometres south-south-west of Kingaroy. Named after a pastoral station occupied from the early 1840s by Charles and William Haly, the area is home to a heritage-listed sandstone homestead begun in 1846. The village was once a bustling settlement with hotels, shops and a school, but declined after drought and farm abandonments, while nearby Kingaroy prospered.
