About Dagun
Dagun is a rural town and locality in the Gympie Region of Queensland, one of a chain of towns along the Mary Valley that also includes Amamoor, Imbil and Kandanga. The town takes its name from its railway station, named in 1914 after an Aboriginal word meaning home camp. The Dagun State School, opened in 1924, and the railway station are both heritage-listed, and the Mary Valley Road passes through the locality along the Amamoor Creek.
