Chelmsford is a rural locality in the South Burnett Region, about 16 kilometres west of Murgon on Queensland's Great Dividing Range. The area is part of the South Burnett agricultural belt known for peanut growing, beef cattle and grain crops, with a former state school that operated from 1910 to around 1972.
