About Burrum River

Burrum River is a rural locality in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland, approximately 24.5 kilometres west of Hervey Bay and 34 km north-north-west of Maryborough. Named after the Burrum River that flows through the area, the locality has a history tied to 19th-century coal mining when the Burrum coalfields supplied fuel to Maryborough via river steamers. The surrounding landscape is flat bush and farmland.
