About Toll
Toll is a residential locality of Charters Towers in North Queensland, located about three kilometres north of the city centre. The suburb is within the historic Charters Towers goldfield, which produced over 200 tonnes of gold from 1871 to 1917. Toll contains the Bore Sight Range at Charters Towers Airfield, a World War II heritage-listed facility built for the US Army in 1942 using local mine tailings for its runways.
