About Mount Fox

Mount Fox is a rural locality in the Shire of Hinchinbrook, Queensland, dominated by the dormant Mount Fox volcano which rises to 810 metres above sea level within Girringun National Park. Formed by an explosive eruption roughly 100,000 years ago, the volcano features a shallow crater and prominent lava flows. The locality sits about 70 kilometres southwest of Ingham and has a history of grazing, timber and mining activity in the Herbert River hinterland.
