About Stockyard (Lockyer Valley - Qld)
Stockyard is a rural locality in the Lockyer Valley of south-east Queensland, situated about 27 kilometres south-east of Toowoomba on fertile alluvial flats. The Lockyer Valley is one of Australia's most productive vegetable-growing regions, with soils supporting lettuce, cabbage, onions and pumpkins that supply supermarkets across eastern Australia. Gatton, home to the University of Queensland's Gatton campus, is the nearest service town roughly 10 kilometres away.
