About Mooloolah Valley
Mooloolah Valley is a rural locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, situated in the hinterland below the Blackall Range approximately 95 kilometres north of Brisbane. The name derives from the Kabi language, meaning either "place of black snakes" or "place of snapper." Pastoral runs were established in the area from the 1860s, and the locality developed around a railway siding connected to the North Coast railway line in 1891. The Mooloolah River forms part of the eastern boundary, and nearby landmarks include the heritage-listed Dularcha Railway Tunnel and Dularcha National Park.
