About Prince Of Wales
Prince Of Wales is an island locality in the Torres Strait, roughly twenty kilometres north of Cape York Peninsula and south of Thursday Island. Known by its Indigenous name Muralug, it is the largest of the Torres Strait Islands and home to a small Kaurareg community in the settlement of Muralug on the island's north-eastern tip. The island is largely vacant Crown land used for recreation, with no established services and daily life reliant on Thursday Island for schools and supplies.
