About Mission River
Mission River is a coastal rural locality on the western side of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland, south-east of Weipa on Albatross Bay. It takes its name from the Mission River, within the traditional lands of the Linngithigh and Thaynakwith peoples. The locality includes the Weipa Airport enclave and part of the Weipa bauxite-mining area.
