About Minnie Downs
Minnie Downs is a rural locality in the Blackall-Tambo Region of central-western Queensland, on grazing land near the Landsborough Highway. It takes its name from a pastoral station established as Elizabeth Creek in 1861 and renamed Minnie Downs in 1873 by the Archer brothers in honour of Alexander Archer's wife, Mary Louise; the station land is now used for grazing on native vegetation.
