About Maxwelton
Maxwelton is an outback rural town and locality in the Shire of Richmond in central north Queensland, bounded to the north by the Flinders River. It lies on the Flinders Highway and Great Northern railway between Townsville and Mount Isa, and is known as the site of a former World War II chemical weapons storage facility at nearby Talmoi.
