About Maramie

Maramie is an outback locality in the Shire of Carpentaria, Queensland, where the Mitchell River flows through to the north-west and the Alice River rises. The locality contains parts of Errk Oykangand, Olkola and Staaten River National Parks. It was named by pastoralists Francis and Alexander Jardine after the freshwater crayfish caught in the area's creeks.
