About Iron Range
Iron Range is a coastal locality in the Shire of Cook on the eastern side of Cape York Peninsula in far-north Queensland. The town of Portland Road lies on a headland in the north-east of the locality. Iron Range adjoins Kutini-Payamu National Park, which is jointly managed with the traditional owners, the Northern Kuuku Ya'u people, and protects the largest remaining area of lowland tropical rainforest in Australia.
