About Gamboola

Gamboola is a remote rural locality in Far North Queensland through which the Mitchell River flows west towards the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Lynd River joins the Mitchell within the locality, and the Burke Developmental Road crosses the river at Gamboola Crossing. Gamboola Station, a cattle property stocked in 1879, is among the region's historic pastoral holdings.
