About Moore

Moore is a rural town in the Somerset Region of Queensland, situated at the base of the Balfour Range between Esk and Yarraman. The Brisbane River passes through the locality, and the D'Aguilar Highway provides the main road access. The town was originally known as Stanley Gate before taking its current name from the Moore railway station, which opened on the Brisbane Valley line in 1910.
