About Mentmore
Mentmore is a coastal locality in the Mackay Region of Queensland, about 95 km north-west of Mackay on the Coral Sea coast. Mentmore Beach was a popular holiday destination in the 1930s and 1940s, with swimming and fishing the main attractions, although plans to develop it as a seaside resort never went ahead because the access road was never funded. The locality was officially named and bounded in 1999.
