About Gargett

Gargett is a small sugar town in the Pioneer Valley of the Mackay Region, about 51 kilometres west of Mackay. The locality is at the eastern approach to Finch Hatton Gorge and Eungella National Park, and has a long history tied to the sugar industry with its railway station serving as a busy hub during the cane crushing season from 1902.
