About Devereux Creek

Devereux Creek is a rural locality in the Mackay Region, about 36 kilometres west of Mackay and nine kilometres north-west of Mirani. Named after James Devereux, an early worker at the Hamilton pastoral station, the area is bounded to the south by the Pioneer River and includes several peaks up to 411 metres. The northern portion falls within Mount Martin National Park and Mount Toby State Forest, with sugarcane on the flat river land and grazing elsewhere.
