About Chelona

Chelona is a rural locality in the Mackay Region, located approximately 17 kilometres south of Mackay along the Bruce Highway. The area is dominated by sugarcane farming, with a network of cane tramways and the North Coast railway line passing through, and takes its name from the nearby railway station named after Mount Chelona.
