About Waterford West
Waterford West is a residential suburb about 31 km south of Brisbane CBD in the City of Logan, situated on the western bank of the Logan River. Known for Tygum Lagoon, a prominent natural landmark adjoining the Waterford Plaza shopping centre, development began in the 1970s around the lagoon with historical significance dating to the 1860s including early German settlement, sugar milling and ferry crossings. The heritage-listed Waterford State School from 1871 and Marsden State High School are nearby landmarks.
