About Harrisville
Harrisville is a rural town in the Scenic Rim Region of Queensland, on Warrill Creek in the Fassifern Valley. It grew around a store and cotton ginnery established by the Harris brothers in the 1870s, when the American Civil War had made cotton a valuable crop, and was served by Queensland's first branch railway line from 1882 until its closure in 1964. The town retains many heritage-listed buildings, including a courthouse, hotels and churches, and is home to the Fassifern Bombers rugby league clubs.
