About Kooroongarra

Kooroongarra is a rural town and locality in the Toowoomba Region of Queensland, approximately 28 kilometres south of Millmerran. The name comes from Aboriginal words kooroon, meaning a resting place for birds, and garra, meaning water. Kooroongarra South State School operated from 1891 to 1967, and St Mark's Presbyterian Church, opened in 1897, now stands at the Millmerran Museum.
