About Kaimkillenbun
Kaimkillenbun is a rural town and locality on the Darling Downs in southern Queensland, about 24 km from Dalby on the road to the Bunya Mountains. The name is believed to come from an Aboriginal word meaning 'open mouth', and the town is recognised as the Queensland town with the longest single-word name, though locals know it affectionately as 'The Bun'. It grew around the Bell Branch railway line, which ran from Dalby to Bell between 1906 and 1984, and its historic pub, known as The Bun Pub, was built in 1911. In 1983 the town served as a filming location for the movie Chase Through the Night.
