About Jandowae

Jandowae is a rural town and locality in the Western Downs Region of Queensland, Australia, located 51 kilometres north of Dalby. First settled in 1862, its name derives from an Aboriginal word meaning waterhole. It marks the northern end of the Dingo Barrier Fence, the world's longest fence at 5,614 kilometres. Heritage attractions include Athlone Cottage and three historic pubs.
