About Glen Niven
Glen Niven is a rural locality in the Southern Downs Region of Queensland, within the Granite Belt on the Darling Downs, adjoining the border with New South Wales. The South Western railway line forms its western boundary. Glen Niven Dam, built in 1915 on Four Mile Creek, stores water for the Southern Downs Region. The locality is named after a former railway station, which was named after a manager of a local tin mine.
