Bungil is a rural locality in the Maranoa Region of Queensland, located about six kilometres south of the town of Roma. Bungil Creek flows through the area, and the name is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word describing grass and water. The locality sits within the broader Western Downs pastoral district, historically significant for sheep grazing and early settlement in the 1840s.
