About Wura
Wura is a rural locality in the Rockhampton Region of Queensland. The name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning kangaroo. The Dawson Valley railway line served Wura from 1912 until its closure in 1987. Two state schools operated in the area: Konara State School (1919-1927) and Wura State School (1924-1944). The Dee River forms part of the locality's eastern boundary.
