About Taranganba
Taranganba is a town and locality in the Shire of Livingstone on the Capricorn Coast of Queensland, located 3.5 kilometres southeast of Yeppoon and 42.9 kilometres northeast of Rockhampton. The name is of Aboriginal origin and the area is the traditional territory of the Darumbal, Woppaburra and Barada Kalbalbara people. Set back from Keppel Bay on a low broad hill overlooking Cooee Bay and separated from Yeppoon by Ross Creek, the town is largely residential with most homes built since the 1970s. The Cedar Park shopping centre is the last significant shopping precinct between Yeppoon and Emu Park. Taranganba State School opened on 1 February 1993 and is one of the largest primary schools on the Capricorn Coast.
