About Alsace
Alsace is a sparsely populated grazing locality in the Central Highlands of Queensland, north of the town of Dingo. It takes its name from a pastoral property founded in the early 1870s by F.A. Brodie, who also named an adjoining run Lorraine, after the French regions lost to Germany in the Franco-Prussian War. Creeks drain from the locality into the Fitzroy River system, and a small state school served the district from 1977 to 1987.
