About Walter Lever Estate
Walter Lever Estate is a rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region of Queensland, about 6.5 kilometres west of Silkwood. Liverpool Creek forms its southern boundary and Mount Warrubullen rises to 394 metres on its northern border with Basilisk. Land use is predominantly sugarcane growing, with a network of cane tramways transporting harvested cane to the South Johnstone sugar mill. The locality takes its name from a 1914 real estate subdivision by early Liverpool Creek landholder Walter Lever, who divided 640 acres of dense tropical jungle into individual farm lots.
