Basilisk is a rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region of Far North Queensland, at the foot of the Basilisk Range south-west of Innisfail. The locality, named after the Royal Navy survey ship HMS Basilisk, is largely rainforest and foothill country and contains Basilisk Range National Park, which protects vine forest linking to the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and habitat for the endangered southern cassowary.
