About Tarzali

Tarzali is a rural town on the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland, 9.7 kilometres south of Malanda and 84 kilometres south-south-east of Cairns. The name is an Aboriginal word for the water gum tree. Settled in the early 1900s for dairy farming and timber harvesting, it now supports grazing, aquaculture and small-scale agriculture in its cool highland setting.
