About Germantown (Qld)
Germantown is a small rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region of Far North Queensland, about 17 kilometres south-west of Innisfail. The locality sits on flat alluvial plains bounded by Utchee Creek to the north and Stewart Creek to the east, and was named after German settlers who arrived in the area after World War I. Land use is a mix of sugarcane and cattle grazing on the fertile tropical lowlands.
