About Daradgee

Daradgee is a small rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region, about 5 kilometres north-west of Innisfail and bounded to the south-east by the Johnstone River. The area supports sugarcane and banana farming on low-lying tropical land, and its heritage-listed railway bridge across the Johnstone River opened in 1924 and completed the final section of the North Coast railway line connecting Cairns to Brisbane by rail.
