About Cape Tribulation
Cape Tribulation is a headland and coastal locality in the Shire of Douglas, in far north Queensland, where the rainforest of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area meets the Great Barrier Reef. Lieutenant James Cook named it in 1770 after the Endeavour struck the reef nearby. The cape is part of Daintree National Park, on the traditional land of the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people.
