About Moresby (Qld)
Moresby is a rural town and locality in the Cassowary Coast Region, about 14 kilometres south of Innisfail in Far North Queensland. The economy centres on banana and sugarcane farming, and the locality is bounded by the Moresby River. Named after the Moresby Range, which explorer George Elphinstone Dalrymple named after Captain John Moresby.
