About Chermside West
Chermside West is a suburb in the north of Brisbane, Queensland, gazetted in 1975. Parts of the suburb were formerly known as Craigslea, and the wider area was once called Downfall Creek before being named for Sir Herbert Chermside, Governor of Queensland from 1902. It is home to the Raven Street Reserve and Craigslea State School, opened in 1972.
