About Tiwi Islands
The Tiwi Islands are part of the Northern Territory, about 80 km north of Darwin in the Timor Sea. They comprise Melville Island, Bathurst Island and nine smaller uninhabited islands, and have been inhabited by the Tiwi people since before European settlement.
