About Milikapiti
Milikapiti is a Tiwi community on the northern coast of Melville Island, in the Northern Territory. Founded in 1941 as the Snake Bay government Aboriginal settlement, it was the site of the capture of Australia's first Japanese prisoner of war in 1942. The community is home to the Jilamara Arts and Crafts centre.
