About Nauiyu

Nauiyu is an Aboriginal community on the banks of the Daly River in the Victoria Daly local government area, about 230 kilometres south of Darwin. Founded as a Roman Catholic mission, the community is home to ten different language and cultural groups with Malak Malak and Kriol as the dominant languages. The Daly River is considered one of Australia's best barramundi fishing rivers, and the community has an indigenous arts centre and hot springs.
