About Litchfield Park

Litchfield Park is a large, sparsely populated locality in the Northern Territory covering the whole of Litchfield National Park, about 100 kilometres south-west of Darwin near the township of Batchelor. It was gazetted as a locality in April 2007 and takes its name from the national park, named after the Territory pioneer and explorer Frederick Henry Litchfield. The park attracts more than a quarter of a million visitors a year to its waterfalls, rainforest and swimming holes such as Wangi Falls.
