About Lake Bennett
Lake Bennett is a small community in the Coomalie Shire of the Northern Territory, about 80 km south of Darwin, on the shores of the artificial lake of the same name, which was created in 1980 when George and Ken Bennett built a dam on a property they had bought the year before. Set in tropical woodland, the lake is a popular weekend destination for Darwin residents, stocked with barramundi since 2004, and the settlement along its northern shore is largely holiday houses and rental cabins.
