About Manton (NT)
Manton is a sparsely populated outer rural locality of Darwin in the Northern Territory, situated approximately 50 kilometres south of the CBD within the Litchfield Municipality. The locality takes its name from Manton Dam on the Manton River, constructed in 1942 as Darwin's first reliable water supply. The dam reservoir is now a popular recreation area for fishing, boating and water sports, surrounded by tropical savanna and conservation land.
