About Glenfield (NSW)
Glenfield is a suburb of south-western Sydney, in the City of Campbelltown and the Macarthur region. The name comes from the estate of the colonial surgeon and explorer Charles Throsby, who called it after his birthplace, Glenfield in Leicestershire, England. The settlement grew around the railway, taking its name when the first platform opened in 1869, and it is now a major interchange for Sydney's south-west rail network. Hurlstone Agricultural High School moved to Glenfield in 1926.
