Richards is a small rural locality in the Warrumbungle Shire of central-western New South Wales, situated approximately 25 kilometres south of Coonabarabran. The area is characterised by grazing land, native eucalypt woodland and remnant bushland on the rolling terrain at the edge of the Warrumbungle Ranges. Richards lies within the broader agricultural district of the central-west, with the surrounding landscape featuring cleared pastoral land, scattered rural properties and the distinctive granite peaks of the Warrumbungles to the north.
