About St Albans (NSW)
St Albans is a small, historic village on the Macdonald River in the Hawkesbury district of New South Wales, about 94 kilometres north-west of Sydney. Settled in 1826, it grew beside the Wollombi Road, where the Settlers Arms Inn, built in 1836 from convict-hewn sandstone, became a stopover for Cobb & Co stagecoaches travelling between Sydney and the Hunter Valley.
