About Fernances

Fernances is a small rural locality on Mogo Creek in the Hawkesbury district of New South Wales, about 5 km east of Higher Macdonald. It is named for John Fernance, a convict transported to the colony in 1814 who took up land in the area, and who was later joined by his wife and son who arrived free.
